STONY BROOK, NY – The Stony Brook University community is mourning the death of one of its students. Freshman Noah Bernard Farrelly died from injuries suffered when he was struck by a minivan near the campus Tuesday morning, Suffolk Police announced Thursday night.
Farrelly, a member of the school's men's cross country team, was jogging across southbound Nicolls Road at the intersection of Health Sciences Drive when he was struck at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday. No charges have been filed against the 65-year-old driver who had a green light at the time.
